B4: Setting expectations with a low performer

Use when: Performance has slipped and you need a clear, fair reset.

The questions

  1. What does "meeting expectations" look like in this role over the next 2 to 4 weeks, in specific, observable terms?
  2. When you look at the expectations, what feels hardest to execute consistently, and why?
  3. In recent situation, I observed behavior or result. What was your intent, and what got in the way?
  4. What support would make the biggest difference right now: clearer priorities, skill-building, tools, time, or faster feedback?
  5. What improvement plan can we both commit to (actions, dates, measures), and how will we review progress and adjust?
